Dear tribe member, You would be surprised to know how many times my resistance disguised itself as pain or a crisis that I needed to manage... Am I saying that I unconsciously created pain to stop myself on the spot? Or that I unconsciously mentally and emotionally escalated things to a crisis? Yes, I am! If you know my story, you know that even when my teenager was in a psychiatric hospital for a week after a suicidal attempt, I was not in Fight and Flight crisis mode... What does it mean? That anytime I reacted to a less dramatic challenge as a crisis, it was manufactured by my mind!!! I can't tell you the number of times that my kids acted out, or presented me with challenging situations before 2020, and it stopped me dead in my tracks regarding my business, my healthy lifestyle practice, or any other life area where I was experiencing growth at the time. I dropped everything, including my spiritual and emotional regulation practices, to attend to what was going on and... I lost all the progress I had made in the concerned area, which led me to having to start all over again! Which means that I was facing what Bob Proctor (from The Secret) used to call the terror barrier because I started to change, and my brain made sure I went back to the status quo... Another way I experienced resistance was by stopping a love relationship that was going well when I met someone who came to entangle me in a totally dysfunctional one. Of course, that was back before I really got serious about healing the childhood wounds that I was unconsciously trying to heal. I will tell you all about unconscious longing to heal another time. Anyway, you got the picture. We experience huge resistance and stop ourselves when we face unconscious fear of change. So this week, I come to you with a video where I tell you about the resistance in disguise of one of my workshop attendees, and I invite you to tap along to dissolve your resistance to change. I often feel a bit sad when I know how to alleviate people’s suffering, but they’re not in a space to hear about it. Of course, I understand that everyone has their own journey and pace, and I honor where they are. I also recognize that if you’re focused on personal growth, you’re likely to be willing to investigate what’s in the way your well-being. But here’s a question for you: How far would you go for inner peace? What if the path to inner peace is extremely uncomfortable, would you be willing to work through that discomfort? Are you aware of what’s between you and inner peace? In this video, I shared the story of a woman who, despite being deeply disturbed by a recent incident, chose to avoid working on deactivating the triggers because it felt embarrassing. Of course I don’t judge her, but I hope she finds a way to help herself. Now, I’m taking this opportunity to ask myself and you, dear friend, if there are any areas in your life where you might be missing out on achieving inner peace because of discomfort. There are many different paths to inner peace, and I hope you find yours.
